First olive grove in the UK has been planted in Devon:

I'm not even sure what a paw-paw is. I seem to recall Baloo the bear singing about not mixing up a paw-paw with a prickly pear, because that would give him a sore-paw, or something along those lines. As I don't know what a prickly pear is either I'm still none the wiser.

And it IS Persimmon Homes isn't it?

Somebody has told me about persimmon before, but blowed if i can remember, we will have to wait for someone thats a bit more knowlegeable on these delicacies.

Well - I've been resisting, but I can't anymore.....

A persimmon is also known as a Sharon Fruit and it looks a bit like an orange tomato. A paw paw is a tree fruit from the custard apple family, sometimes called a Poor Man's Banana and a Prickly Pear is a Cactus.

So why the heck was Baloo worried about getting them mixed up? You'd have to be a pretty spaced out bear to mistake a tree fruit for a cactus

I have some experience of both Persimmons and Pawpaws. Both grown in NZ and I grew up eating Pawpaws off our tree at home. Tigger's description re Persimmons being like orange tomatoes is bang on. Only they taste disgusting. To me, at least. My stepfather loved them, but to me (having only ever tasted them as child) they tasted like rotten melons! Pawpaws are also known as Papayas. They are rather nice. More like a tangy melon.

I've seen Sharon fruit-but it really din't make me want to eat it

I think it belongs with star fruits and custard apples - nice to look at but disappointing to eat.
