Did my Englishman act this weekend, the dog refused to co-operate and showed remarkable sanity by staying in the shade. :D

Saturday was warm preparing for my Squash Plot. :)
Sunday was damm hot doing my Squash Plot. :D
Monday was ruddy boiling sat in a train inching over a buckled set of rails, thinking about my poor little Squash Plants naked under the sun.

For some pictures of my weekends insanity visit my blog as below.

That was an interesting read Peter. What's a dalek? I mean, I know what a dalek is but I don't think that's really what you fed your greenstuff to! I think you actually really enjoyed your weekend in the midday (all day) sun!
Being pathetically weak I would have done the job differently. I would have hacked off the unwanted growth at ground level except in the areas where I was going to plant. These I would have dug holes in and mixed the manure in in that area only. I would then have laid carpet over the rest and planted my squash in the manured holes. After watering thoroughly and letting the surface dry out a bit I would have put a thick layer of woodash around the plants to protect against slugs.
Not saying my way is any better, just trying to give a different perspective for readers who don't have such mighty machinery. :D

brings to mind the old saying, "the difference between men and boys is the size of their toys"

Yeah and most men and boys still overestimate the size of the toy
