Had a rummage and a tidy up of my shed and found that I ws low on specially formulated fertiliser for the likes of onions, brasssicas, potatoes etc.I have a 20Kg bag of growmore and that got thinking"Do I need to order more of the special formulas?Should I just use the growmore instead?"Looking at the cost of the specials on the Elixir site at £6 a Kg I am of the opinion that I will use the growmore in all areas of the plot this year along with my usual homemade compost spread on the plot which wasn't covered this year, with the strawberry bed and asparagus bed gettng their usual covering of bought-in bagged manure.

Evening Snooky, I would imagine your soil is well topped up with the specially formulated fertilisers so, i’m sure the growmore will be more than adequate for all your plants needs, for a good few years…..maybe not quite as large a specimens as you are used to, but bet they won’t be far off…..

If you want to be fussy it can work out cheaper to buy some individual fertilisers instead of special blends to supplement the Growmore a bit, potash for fruit and a few other things is a start and maybe some phosphate for root crops.
