Seed Potato Prices.

I don't grow a lot of potatoes now because in my household I am the only one who eats them on a regular basis, threeto four times a week and it seems to me that the scab in my ground is getting worse.I will buy 2.5Kgs of Kestral or similar but looking around the suppliers the prices for that size bag has shot up between £6 to £7-50 and in some cases the delivery cost doubles the total cost.I will wait until the local Garden Centres get their stock, but past experience says that they will only have 2Kg bags and that also seems to be the norm these days smaller bags but higher prices,

Evening Snooky, regarding the scab, you don’t apply lime or wood ash to the soil, before planting, do you….as this can make the scab worse.
There are a few varieties of scab resistant potatoes about now!
Getting back to the price of the seed potatoes, I agree, they are getting really expensive if you buy them from seed catalogues, especially with the postage and as you say, they are being sold in smaller weights, but without any price reduction.
