OH. Still breathing. Though sometimes when the wind is in the wrong direction I can hear the sound of a scythe being sharpened.

They have only just turned up here, but they are making up for their late arrival by bringing all their friends & family & having a bit of an illegal rave!
No gardening exactly today as thought I'd sort out my allotment site King's order, just to surprise them as it's usually me that is last. Might still be last though as a bit confused with the separate spud order as just a ruled sheet with spud varieties & a price, no name space or anything, but the prices on it do not match Kings prices so think probably a bulk order via the committee but unsure how they will work out whose are whose. As no-one else has contacted them I think I just might have got the last page when the ink ran out!

Not only is there a lack of butterflies this year but there seems to be a lack of birds too.Haven't see many small species lately such as the Tit family, sparrows, blackbirds etc which is unusual because the Yew tree is full of berries this year and the only wildlife feeding on it is the resident grey squirrel.Even the magpies are missing as are the jackdaws.Wood pigeons are about but otherwise very quiet. And that goes for my neighbours gardens too where several of them say that the feeders aren't being frquented.Strange.
