Lost plant label

I have 4 plants that are just sitting in the conservatory not doing much. However, I lost the tags for them and don’t know what they are to consider how to remedy the issue.

Nice green leaves that have a furry fuzzy covering. The base of the stem is starting to look woody on some and they have little white bits sitting in between the leaf and the stem.

I think they are a pepper of some sort but can’t say for definite, any thoughts? I’ll try and get an image tomorrow. Also, any idea why they are not getting any bigger or doing anything at all really? They need repotting again but they are about a foot tall with a great rootball. Even the baby leaves seem to be staying the same size.

Ok took a bit of time but the plants are as below. I’m hovering between a bean / pepper (no difference lol) of some sort. Suggestions greatfully received, as well as why they are stuck at this size.

The yellowing of the leaves is new and started during our break away from the house 10days ago. We have greenfly which I keep killing off by gently rubbing the leaves to squish them.

Did you ever buy any aubergines by any chance?

ha, yes, agreed - aubergines! when you said they were a bit fuzzy, I thought that was what they may be :)

Ah yes I did, but didn’t think they’d germinated. Thank you both.

Any suggestions on how to get them to grow? Do they need super big pots?

they are hungry feeders, so bigger pots, yes, keep an eye out for spider mites and greenfly and feed frequently. Half of mine are in the greenhouse in 8-9 inch pots. (20-24cm in new money), the others in the tomato shelter, which is open on one side, in the ground.

Thanks Retro. I have just put aphidius on them today to try and control the greenfly issue. Up until now I’ve been rubbing them off gently but too many plants and too little time.

I think I’ll pop them into bigger pots and see if that helps.
