Spent all morning in the glasshouse, as it was raining!
Although it will have settled in the plants, that I planted over the weekend…..

It must be early summer, when the rain stopped the midges came out to play for the first time.

OH I think starting Early Summer Bits & Bobs might be lucky. Since mentioned my phone weather has updated & it looks pretty good for the next week or so down here. Not 100% fine, but no big rain or wind & temp is holding. Looks way better now than it did so fingers crossed they don't change it again!

Been a drab day today with a bit of light rain, got jobs done in the greenhouse and did a bit of pond watching in between the showers, there's one of our Black current bushes to dig out, no signs of life it it sadly, I also noticed the Pink Fir Apples are growing, tops just coming through, we do like those knobbly wee blighters, even if they are a pig to prepare.

OH I think this thread might have jinxed us… it’s rained all day.

Summer? Been raining all night... Seem like wishing life away to me.

When I saw the wet morning, I just couldn’t resist posting it…..please forgive me everyone!

No rain today down on the plots, in fact very still, warm & quiet, probs no more than 20 of us down & not one strimmer in action!

Did all the re-sows needed, so next step is structures. I was once again in awe of seeds; sown, nearly drowned, got cold, hunkered down & still enough energy left to pop up weeks after. A lot of the re-sows I anticipated were not needed, just some thinning & re-planting spacing. Some of the tough guys were right wimps though & total no shows.

Exciting news, the Cuckoo has returned to Milton Woods, so very happy!

I understand that one has been heard in the next village to my work location.
In recent years they seem to have been limited to the coastal strip up this way.

Seems like autumn this morning with fog and heating coming on.

Windy but bright up here, the garden looks like it might need watering later, dare I say we have had no rain for a week............................................(that's torn it)

Good turns can backfire indeed. My plot neighbour was to take my little shed down to the plot so I could put it together with his help as needed, however he decided to surprise me & thought he would put it together at his house & take it down constructed so just needing securing it to the concert slabs. Unfortunately he only measured his car to see if it would fit in the back & did not factor the road at back of his row of houses all have single gates & joined brick garages all opening into this single track road, with no other access.

He then spent time convincing his son in law to help him lift it over the garage on Sunday. He was all apologetic when he rang me, forgetting I didn't even know! One of the reasons I do like him so much!

Just been putting posts and strings to the broad bean rows at home here and setting up wire for the radeo peas to climb.

Having to sow some more beetroot as rows are thin...whilst beetroot in the big garden is full rows and moving well...same gardener sowed them, different soil, 5 miles apart...that's by road not the spacing of the rows
