Hello,
I recently bought online seeds and also potted them according to the instructions but I am facing some issues with papaya plants. Everything was going well but I found some black and brownish spots which looked like they were infected and are making papaya getting even worse.
So what might be the cause of this infection?
Also, how can I protect it now?

Not sure what that would be, as i’ve never grown them before….

Because you piqued my interest & I would like to grow some but thought I couldn't in the UK I had a quick peek online. Pleased to say they will grow in the UK, so will give these some consideration.

Anyway I found this regarding the black spots: 'Black spot of papaya is caused by the fungus Asperisporium. This disease if most severe during rainy periods. It goes on to say it is spread by spores & leaf & fruit can be infected, but fruit is still edible as just cosmetic. Sounds a bit like potato blight, just a different fungus.
