I was very suprised that we didn't have a nettle patch in our neglected back garden. And I've always wanted to cook with nettles. Yeah, I know we could get them free by foraging but I'm not fit to go off piste away from the car exhaust fumes and the dog pee.
I have bought stinging nettle seeds from A. I know, it sounds a bit daft. I'll plant them in a large container, just like my herbs, and then we can look forward to nettle soup, etc. I'm thinking you could substitute nettles for spinach in many recipes. Nettle and ricotta lasagne?
The seeds are coming via snail mail and they've not yet arrived.
