We got some bad news last week.
The supplier we've used for years is shutting down later this year.
We've been buying a three ton lorryload of mixed stuff.
Three different compost/growbags, bagged manure, granular fertiliser, lime, canes, weed membrane, seed potatoes, etc

Asked if they had a competitor anywhere in travelling distance and they said no.

So we could buy a lorryload of one thing, or go to garden centres ourselves, with someone's van and then be charging more than local commercial outlets.

Anyone know of a possible replacement?

When I used to buy potting compost I used Gro-Well Direct. You had to get quite a big pallet load to get free shipping but couldn't spot how much that is now with a quick look on their website and I haven't checked how they compare these days with DIY sheds. Odds and ends are probably cheaper for members to get direct from Elixir, might be worth asking them if they do bulk discounts as they advertise everything at shipped prices, a big order must save them shipping costs.

That’s a shame, Peter and I don’t know of any small suppliers, apart from the likes of LBS Horticultural Trade!
