I remember back in the last century when I was a kid, it used to be the norm to collect/save used stamps. Somehow charities made money from this. (I've no idea how it worked.)

Anyway the habit must've been deeply ingrained in me as I never throw away used stamps. Now I've just unearthed some from the back of my desk drawer. What do I do with them? Do charities still want these?

And no, Stanley Gibbons has nothing to fear. I'm not taking up stamp collecting, already have too many hobbies I'm not keeping up with. 8)

Thanks, Shallot Man. I'll do that once I've gone through all my papers in case any more turn up. :D

And, they'll get the stamp on the envelope I send them in.

Thanks, Mrs Pants.

How do the charities make money out of this? I mean it's just bog standard postage stamps not Penny Blacks or anything.

I think unfranked stamps are resold, this what I used to buy years ago for mass mailouts.
