Well Monika would have been giving me gentle reminders!
I wonder what happened to all her pots of Spring flowering bulbs, that she potted up….such a shame one of the family never came on the forum.
Anyway, with this cold weather approaching, I hope you have all got your fur-lined under-garments out in preparation…..

I wish I had some to hand OH, but fortunately I do have some well insulated gardening gloves. This cold weather is painful to my hands.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

My only pair of fleece lined gloves are way too big for me to work effectively but I persevered as best as able, but had to take them off quite a bit & my fingers were freezing to the point it was hurting. When I got home I went straight online to order a couple of pairs my size. My phone weather is telling me on the 9th we could get snow down here, but will see!

Had an idea to be out digging... I did start a patch...but not today, proper wet lot.
So currently sat at pc watching https://www.nymr.co.uk/grosmont-webcam a place I used to frequent in days of old.

Afternoon Clive, glad i’ve tempted you to reply… hope you are keeping well and no doubt still very busy!
I had a look at getting some digging started but, same thing here, just too wet….
The link you have posted says, “it cannot be found”, maybe something to do with the new forum set up!

Hello Old H',
Yes, the forum no longer seems to support passage to a posted link. Only by copy and paste of what would be the link.
On ground jobs at work have been back on this week after the wet spell eased, we seemed to escape some rain over the last few days that went to the west of us..but not today....it's a line of showers coming in off the North sea....and some minus figures for middle of the week, I see..
Perhaps I should have done a bit of my digging last weekend instead of having a ride out to see some newly arrived aeroplane projects at East Kirkby, Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre. but I just had to go and see if the B25 Mitchell, that had come from Hendon, was assembled and view the Bristol Bolingbrokes that have come from Canada. The latter is a set of two, to salvage and assemble one for display, that have just been sat outside for years...fascinating and right up my street.

Looking at the frosts we are meant to be getting this week, added with the low day temperatures, I think it must be the coldest beginning of December we have had for many a year.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Before we first went to live in Ukraine in October 2018, we were concerned about how cold it might get. We went to a sports shop to buy special underwear. Not exactly fur-lined LOL but fleece-lined. Blimey, that sure as heck was a cold winter! The ones afterwards didn't seem so bad. But the special underwear was brilliant. The brand was Heat Holders - I recommend!oldherbaceous wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 11:15 am Anyway, with this cold weather approaching, I hope you have all got your fur-lined under-garments out in preparation…..
