Having one of those days!

Burned my hand through not paying attention.dropped a bowl smashing it to smithereens and diced chillies all over the kitchen floor,Daughter used up all the Cumin so had to dash out and buy more and"Sod'sLaw" as I got out of the car ,the Heavens opened and was caught in a heavy rain shower!
The day redeemed itself when I had a phone call from the local Hospital appointments people to tell me that I am to see the Oncologist next Monday.I have been diagnosed with s mucle invasive cancer of the bladder.
Things are moving fast looks like it is going to be an interesting few months.

I was being sensible in that I used a lidded, insulated mug to take my cup of coffee up to the study this afternoon. Then stupidly, I took the lid off because it is so much better to drink from an open top.
Then knocked it and coffee went all over the carpet.
However, that isn't as bad as burning my hand. I hope your hand has only a minor burn Snooky. More importantly, I hope the oncologist gets treatment under way quickly.

Hi Snooky, Sorry to hear about your bladder cancer. I had this 18 months ago, Stage 2, which I don't think was muscle invasive. The East Surrey hospital at Redhill have been marvellous - a quick operation and three months later the consultant uttered the loveliest words to hear, "You no longer have cancer'. I'm still being monitored every 3 months. I do wish you all the best and hope they can catch it in time.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes and support.
Saw the Oncologist today and the plan is chemotherapy to start in two to three weeks, four sessions in a three month period, then surgery probably,to remove the bladder and other bits and bobs and then pee in a bag for the rest of my days!!!

Evening Snooky, must have been tough news but, if you can take some positive points from that, hopefully it will help hugely.

Snooky. This has obviously been a gruelling day for you and you're doubtless feeling more than a little numb. However, at least it,s a positive plan to keep you alive, kicking and still contributing on this forum!
You,re perhaps in good company on here with people who have bits missing or artificial bits added!
Pour yourself a nice drink and face tomorrow after a decent night's sleep!

Two things. Hell of a frost last night. Secondly, is it me , or are the adverts getting longer and longer on YouTube.

Don't know about them getting longer shallot man. Jus seems so because our lives are getting shorter ! Heating definitely on here. Thick frost unmelted on lawn at 2.30 pm. When it,s a case of choosing between higher bills or the stress of frozen and burst pipes we,re not taking the risk., birds and foraging squirrels all frantically foraging before the early dark comes down. Our dry porridge oats being gratefully scoffed up by all comers!
