Both myself and grandson had what we think it was but this is before it hit the headlines we were both bad for well over a week coughing shivering the full works

I guess you've all seen this image many newspapers are carrying - didn't realise our green area was quite as uncommon as it is.

Just been over the allotments and picked a bucket of tomatoes….and wow, it is hot!

Too Hot! Dripping sweat, Factor 30 attracting too much dust & gave up after 2 1/2 hrs. 40.8C in tunnel which is fine as sweet potatoes having the time of their lives, tomatoes in abundance & peppers & melons thriving! Everything got a very good water both down the path & back up watering as I was the only one down on the site for quite a while so took the opportunely to do it more throughly! Calabrese is starting to head so a break from cabbage for a bit, but I have a lot of Calabrese thanks to the two old couples buying me lots of plants (32); as a thank you for the bits I drop off for them. (I'm sure it was a subtle hint from them as well)!

Means I won't go down until Monday but lots to do at the home garden to keep busy over the weekend! You know - like sitting in the shade with the mini hand fan!

Poor plants over the allotments were all limp by this afternoon, really did look sorry for themselves….

I confess, it is getting me down. It seems to be a question of what is tough enough to survive.


P.S. the boot (size 6) is for scale

I’ve been feeling rough the last couple of days I blamed one of the mates I meet-up with om a Tuesday my eldest was going to come today to give me a bee Bob so I thought I better test myself to be on the safe side as both my girls are sticklers for doing things right as it was I tested positive needles to say I feel crap

The only good thing about the ground cracking, Stephen is, it will allow the rain to get in faster…my allotments used to be like that when I first took them on, but many, many loads of manure later, they are now in quite good fettle.

Morning Shallot Man, I have a horrible feeling we won’t hear from Monika on the forum again….and that makes me feel very sad!

Take it easy Robo. A feeling of extreme exhaustion is one of the symptoms of Covid so if your heat up there is anything like ours your body will force you to rest. Listen to it and rest up until things ease off.

Hmm. If I was on parade, things might be different.

Grandson is whinging now never stops these young uns make me wonder who is going to look after them when us old uns pass on
