We had snow from just before twelve o’clock it was forecast to be light after 1 pm what came down wasn’t light but stopped after a couple of hours it’s still there for some reason our dog loves it

no snow, but a very hard frost here this morning. The roads were fair slippy too.

Hard frost down here near Stansted Airport, no mud in the park, it had all set.

Well the most essential part of Storm Arwen's damage finally fixed today but not before the dog did one last great escape. The wind blew the galvanised iron sheet fencing along the hedge row over & it took with it the inside fencing as well. Mind the inside fence was always temporary, 2 days later it is now permanent but higher & not attached to the metal fencing. Bonus though I could also cut back the hedge row so not as wide, still too high though, but farmer has been told not to cut it with the over the top, both sides machine as someone had a couple of panes of glass broken in their greenhouse. There must be nearing 40 plots along there so I personally thought 2 panes in 6yrs not too bad & he replaced them & his farm hands put them in.

Anyway, down again tomorrow to sort the rest of the mess left behind from Arwen, but a balmy 12C compared to the todays 3C so that is good as the rest to do is not so physical & warming.

A query re over-wintering of peppers plants please?

I've just picked 6 small ripe peppers from my overwintered pepper plant from last year (the third batch this year) but am wondering whether, if I now cut it back, I could encourage it to survive and thrive for a third season.

Does anybody have experience of long term over-wintering of these plants?

Mine all died last week when it went down to -8 so did my tomatoes I was hoping to keep going till Christmas

Plants been got at in tunnel, pictures from nature cam shows a rabbit have a good time.

So annoying. They always chew the best bits too, don't they??

Yes they do Primrose, bigger problem is finding how it got onto the plot and into the tunnel. It's been on the plot off & on since the summer just cannot find how it is getting in.

Have a rose in full bud, with others pending.

Staying in Dorset with ma & pa this weekend. There's a pink scabious still in flower!

But the early Snowdrops are late….if that makes sense..

Update on the tunnel got rid of the rabbit now nature cam is showing a rat has taken over.
