This is the sort of advert the Police might be interested in.

Obviously a big SCAM.
The spelling and grammar are the giveaway signs - and that colour!

Blame me for the colour, John.

These are now almost daily attempts to advertise all sorts of stuff, usually making short or nonsensical comments on very old posts, then changing the content, or adding dodgy links, sometimes they try hard to do sensible posts for a while then do the top ten mowers for under $300 post.

This one was up front just trying it on first post, tracking these people down is difficult, they could be anywhere in the world.
Someone at work once got one of the

"We've been watching you enjoying videos on your laptop and we switched on your camera and filmed your pleasure.... now send us money or we will post the video of you...."

blackmail videos and took it as a personal insult to their integrity, wanted us to report it to the police and get someone jailed.

No point, how do you definitively ID someone who's registered a gmail address against a cheap mobile phone or SIM card.
Then they could be in the US, Russia, China Anywherestan.....

For those who've had a more "sheltered" online life videos = porn and "the video of you" is meant to be someone, how can I put this, physically enjoying what they are watching.

Luckily I managed to get to the link before you killed it. All they wanted was my bank details and they'll send me £10,000 in various denominations for £1,000. I thought it would come Hermes but then they said Amazon Prime but unfortunately there's something wrong with my Prime account so I doubt it will be that, I'll just have to wait and see. Oh hang on, my phone has just received a text message, apparently Royal Mail have a parcel for me that they've failed to deliver I'd better get off here and follow that up.

Reminds me of a phone call a couple of year ago. Mr xxx Yes. Security department from Santander. Oh yes. We have noticed some unusual transactions on your account. Oh yes. What we would like you to do. This point I cut in. Tell you what. Give me half an hour, I will go to my local branch, you phone them, and to together we will sort it out. Funny, the line then went dead.

Well it makes a change from the emails from Russian ladies looking for a nice Englishmen that my husband keeps receiving !

I see on YouTube there seem to be a number of people pretending to be vulnerable old ladies or gentlemen who are responding to telephone scammers and giving them a run for their money. I'd like to try but not sure i could keep a straight face for long enough.

My eldest Son keeps them on the phone for ages...it normally ends up with them giving him a torent of abuse but, he just thinks it is highly amusing, as he has held them from ringing other people.

More of us should do that OH. Perhaps the scammers would become so frustrated and exasperated that they would put our ohone numbers on their "black lists". That would be the ultimate irony !

My husband's usual response from scammers alleging to be from Microsoft is "Oh, do you know Bill Gates?!"

I can see the funny side of keeping them talking or whatever, but I simply can't do that. I feel sorry for the poor chaps/lasses on the phone who are probably trying to make a few pence and have a supervisor standing over them wielding the metaphorical stick. Simply declining the offer in a friendly way will do for me.
Having said that, I once shouted "Oh, p*** off!" at an automated voice when the call disturbed me during a rather difficult cooking process. My OH was most upset at my language until I told him that nobody "real" was listening.

Dear Monika, i'm not as kind as you i'm afraid....if they were just trying to sell something, that would be a different matter but, these people know that they could be helping to take an old persons life savings!!

When my Son gets the so called investment ones, he tries to get the Supervisors on the phone, and rips them to bits with the rules and regulations...

I also receive several "meet nice young ladies" emails, even though I've been married to a man for 27 years.

It's a big scam in Ukraine too. They offer "dating" and maybe the guy even comes out here to meet the lovely woman of his dreams. Of course she's never available after he arrives, but who cares? The guy has paid for the introduction and the woman (assuming she even exists) will get a small share of the profit from the scammy transaction.

As for investments, I get so many offers of these "opportunities" that I've blocked certain words on our email server.

If it was so easy to become a millionaire, I'd just do it, and not waste my days trying to sell the idea to others. Bah!

A few years ago I was deluged with those "I understand you've been in a car accident" calls and when I was recently out of hospital had yet another call. I responded with my usual "get lost ' and hung up. They called back twice more and on the third call in 10 minutes I was very offensive and used language most unbecoming to a lady. Two days later I received a letter from my insurance company saying they'd been trying to call me! Seems my husband had been in a minor RTA in my car whilst I was in hospital, but didn't tell me as I'd been so ill!
