As it is xmas, thought you might be amused by this little story.

Our local council are giving away fruit trees, victoria plum, worcester apple conference pear etc.

I was told they were 1 year old, so expecting a small stick, say 18 inches to 2 foot.

got a phone call last fri to go and collect, arrived there to find it was.............9 foot tall

which was great obviously.

I did mention this to the lady there, who said they had been expecting 1 year old trees, and so had been telling everyone who was due to collect 'yes, you'll have no problem getting it in your car'................

Hope you got Plum. Our council is giving Compost...You have to bag it your self..well in my case I opend the door and just shoveled it in the back of the Shogun. Saves going to gym.

though the worcestor apples looked very fine.

not quite sure where i am going to put it though, rather overloaded with fruit trees already, but as free wife couldnt object too much
