Perhaps this is helpful for many other users as well. I'm trying to create a list of pests and how to get rid of them.

Whether it is cabbage white, the birds, onion flies, the neighbours dog. Whether you are using a tunnel net, organic remedies, plants that certain animals don't like, anything! What steps do you take to keep certain animals and pests away from your plants?

Garlic spray is pretty effective I've found! Just a deterrent & have to spray regularly so always back up with mesh or netting as well!

Deer are a huge problem on our allotments, so just lots of strong netting...

Ooops this thread seems to have gone astray.
I use physical barriers for a lot of pests, fences for the bigger ones, netting for the smaller. Slug pellets for the slimies and mouse traps for the furries.

PS: forgot the air rifle.

Netting for most pests: dense mesh against insects, bigger mesh/wire netting against birds and rabbits. Our pesky house sparrows, and there seem to be more than ever at the moment, even squeeze through the wire netting to get to some juicy lettuce, beetroot or pea seedlings ....
