Another colourful bird, not so popular with fruit tree growers though, a male Bullfinch

It must be well over 20 years since i’ve seen a male Bull finch….they started to disappear about the same time as the Greenfinches did!
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

There's a forest less than 10 miles from me where Bullfinches gather for the winter, 3 or 4 years ago about 50 of them used to hang around the track that cuts through the woodland. There used to be Capercaillie as well, but they have gone, I have found some, but they are about 75 miles away and I'm restricted on where I can go as they are protected(quite rightly so)

This was taken last Autumn in our local Glen, a pair of White Tailed Sea Eagles, on the left is a Red Kite, which sort gives an idea just how big those Eagles are, they were flying directly over our heads, amazing day.

Thanks Oldherbaceous, I'm not able to go to some of my favourite haunts, can't manage climbing the hills at the moment, but I'm getting fitter. Now is the time that migrants will start to gather before leaving for far off shores and it won't be long before winter visitors will arrive, I just hope the bird flu isn't too bad.

A bit of a rare sight, a Woodcock out in the open and on the ground looking for breakfast

We still get a few in the Glens where they seem to pick on the Meadow Pipits for nests, not heard one near our village for over a decade, though I did see three migrating through a couple of years ago. This was taken before lockdown in Glen Esk

Thank you both, it is close to my main hobby along side fishing and of course gardening, I still take a few still pictures, but I am trying to produce short movies more now.

Not exactly wild, indeed this one was fast asleep in the Spring sunshine when I took this, a Hairy Coo, or you may know it as a Highland cow.
