I've been playing with my video editing again, this one is Long tailed tits, not that rare, but I don't get to film them very often, they tend to move very quickly.

Don't know how you got your lovely picture of an individual bird. When the Long Tailed Tits descend on my fat ball feeders they cover them in ten or twelve birds, one of our favourite sights.

Not up to Burnie's standard but I haven't got the lens and I haven't cleaned the windows. Not much snow but it has brought us a Brambling and a Reed Bunting to the feeders

I built an owl box over 5 years ago (I'm still in pain, fell out of the tree putting it up and landed on my shoulder) but have never seen any activity although they are often calling at night. Walking under the tree this morning I heard a scratching noise and looked up and was rather surprised and pleased to see this which I believe is a youngster.

Wow! That is brilliant & good name choice! Just remember when they fledge & you need to do anything to the structure to recruit someone nimble & hold the ladder for them!

Great reward for your pain Geoff. Just proves how patient you have to be when dealing with wildlife. Hopefully if decent nesting sites are in short supply they will have put them name on it and return next season, and possibly use it for their daytime naps too.
