Looking at a well known seed catalogue for "LONGOR" shallots. £11.00 for seven [well within a penny. ] plus postage, works out at £16.00 for seven. £2.28 each.

Plenty of alternative suppliers for Longor, however nearly all are out of stock.

I usually buy Taylors and they are nothing like the price you quote when purcahsed in packs of 10 from Garden Centres

Blimey that is a right rip off. I best get researching & ordering or these will the only overpriced ones left!

Just wait until the alleged Brexit shortages start kicking in ! U don't know whether some of these supplies come from mainland Europe or whether they're all British born and bred?
The only times I've grown shallots the end results were so small and fiddly to peel - more the size of pickling onions, that I wondered what the attraction is in growing them.

All down to taste Primrose, when I could actually taste them I used to enjoy their strength and the variance in taste from onions. My daughter pickles them
