goes my rose bush on the window right now.

It seems to be setting to blowy for tonight, if it gets any stronger I'll find rosebuds on the sofa in the morning. :)

The wind knows I'm getting my pigs back tomorrow and they hate wind and will probably get a chill again from the wind.

Very blowy last night in sussex. Had to do a bit of emergency weighing down of cold frame lids and plastic greenhouses but they came through the night fine. Did loose one tomato plant though as a flogging plastic sheet shapped it at ground level. Have plenty of spares to replace it though.

The broad beans are laid a bit low this morning too but they will be fine.

Wind is set to continue today and tonight and forecast is for a wet weekend.

:( my mini plastic greenhouse took flying lessons across the garden yesterday afternoon - pots everywhere! Think I've managed to save most of it, but my lambs lettuce and salad leaves seedlings could be anywhere!!!!!! :o
Am going to peg it down this time!

Vicki

I use a little trick on my lareg walk min plastic greenhouses.

Get some plastic milk containers, 4 litre or larger. Fill with water. Then attach two to a length of rope, one at each end and then drape these over the roof of the house. This has two effects. The weight helps hold it down and the string over the top reduces the flogging of the plastic.

Also can you place bricks or an old paving slabe on the bottom shelf for even more weight?

Thanks Jerry. :D
I'll do both those things I think! I think because I've had it open all the time recently to harden things off, the wind must have got underneath it and just lifted it off!! :x
The milk container ideas a good one!
will wait til the rain stops - tipping it down here!
