Are they Cala lilies? Unusual to see them growing in clumps like that in that colour. The white arum lilies seem to be the more familiar ones. Are they growing a garden environment or in the wild?

Calla lilies...readily available now in the uk. Could be "Black Forest".

I thought they were a Zantedeschia as well but I didn't reply as I couldn't find one where the flowers are as closed as that. If they were also at Audley End they could be a species that has escaped from the garden that has been there for a long time or they could be from another part of the Araceae family that includes the Arums, Arisaema and quite a few others but all have tubular type flowers. Was there a flower in the middle of the tube like you see on Arums, technically called a spadix?

They were grouped under a Cedar of Lebanon, front right of the main house.
Many clumps spaced in a group about half a tennis court.
My view is they were deliberately planted and nurtured as all around is closely mown.
