Hi folks

Is anyone having the same problem, we have a poly tunnel and for some reason foxes are biteing hole in it. Is there any way apart from shooting them, to stop this happening any surjestions would be a great help.

regards Bill

Foxes and polytunnels

Are you sure it's foxes? I had a similar problem but I think it was rabbits chewing holes. I thought about rabbit fencing all round but decided it was too expensive so here's what I did. I clamped some 2×1 roof batten round the tunnel outside at about a metre high with some straight clamps from the tunnel manufacturers, then I stapled chicken wire to the wood. I then angled it out and pinned to ground. I put some black polythene around the outside of the tunnel on the ground to stop the grass growing as you wouldn't be able to get at it to keep it cut This was about 8 months ago and no problems since. Where I bolted the clamps to the wood I reinforced the plastic with a bit of hot spot tape to stop it tearing.

Hope this helps
