I have now moved all the tomatoes into the greenhouse, but will be under extra cover at night until the temperatures rise overnight.

Epiphytes don't need a lot of care, my Dad used to grow them in the 1970's and I am carrying on the challenge. They are quite an ugly plant, but the flowers, although short lived are amazing, this plant has around 5 buds that will hopefully open. I have 4 varieties and hope to add more, they seem to be popular in the USA, where I guess you might be able to grow them outside in the southern states.

Wonderful tigerburnie!
Here's a few pics of my crumbly hard standing, still to be lifted (no hire shops for pneumatic drills open, and friends who have one can't visit to drop off, as they live an hour and a half away). Containers and imagination to get a few crops this year. Tomatoes are going back inside the greenhouse at night.

Seems a shame to plant it up and make it look untidy. Hope the frost doesn't spoil the apple blossom.

Geoff that looks fab! I really must take some pics of the plot- might put that on the To Do list tomorrow as only have 3 beds to sort then I will have it all weeded & tidy & ready for inspection!

My wegelia is in full flower too. It was here when I moved in (2002) and I only found out what it was called last year!

I don't think our wild garden has ever been as colourful as this spring: at the moment there are honesty, red campion, blue and white camassia, aquilegias in various colours, pot marigold, white and blue cranesbill, the last tulips, amelanchier, hawthorn, a huge flowering bird cherry tree overgrown with light pink clematis (Elizabeth), oh and quite a few dandelions, buttercups and daisies too!
