Thank you for my birthday wishes - only one year left of being in my 30s
My husband bought me three bags of compost and a bottle of champagne .... Today's allotment time is going to be interesting.....what could go wrong!

Probably quite a lot with the compost but Mumm's the word.

Happy Birthday Pawty ! What a lovely thoughtful husband who knows exactly the right kind of birthday presents to buy a girl who likes gardening! My husband once bought me a trailer load of manure for a present. It was one of the best ever presents although I had a hard time convincing my non- gardening friends that It was something I really wanted. Enjoy the fizz !
Happy birthday Pawty Hope you've had a lovely day

From me also.
Thanks all,
I had a productive day on the allotment with a cheeky pre mixed g&t mid afternoon, thoughtfully brought from Mr Pawty. He also helped for a couple hours (which is a rare occasion - he usually goes running or cycling when I'm at the lotty).
Garlics and shallots in. Purple sprouting plants in with pigeon protection. Harvested a few things including a basket full of picanti peppers which hadn't ripened on the plants - I'll put them with some ripe tomatoes and they'll soon turn red, but probably won't have as much heat.
