Dear Diane,
Re Amelanchier Lamarckii and Robin Hill
According to my Hilliers book of shrubs and trees
I have several Amelanchier Lamarkii on my property and they are all pink flowered but as they age the petals seem to blanche white but when they are in full bloom initially the bushes/small trees are a mass of pink blossom producing black berries which the Blackbirds pinch mostly before they are ripe.. The Hilliers book of shrubs also lists several others and Robin Hill starts off bright pink in bud and the flowers are pale pink and fade to white just like the Lamarckii.
I would suggest to you that soft wood cuttings at the very begining of June is probably the best method of propagation. There is a brief window for cuttings which is at best two weeks long.
Amelanchiers also sucker and if you know somebody who has what you are after ask very sweetly for a sucker.
Sincerely,
JB.
PS I understand that you have disengaged your PM system.
