Broke my old broom head I had for making holes for the leeks, so convinced Mr Westi to see what was available at the (expensive) Garden Centre to use up my birthday vouchers! Blimey I timed it right for once! No advertising to promote it but for £40 (including vouchers) I've got Wolf Garten long handle, a D handle & a short handle, a rake, a hoe, a claw thing & a bulb planting tool!

Oh & throw a £5.99 pack of Citrus drip feed into that mix! We went to the car rather smartish I can tell you! Now did the girl on the till not scan everything or they had a computer meltdown - but my receipt says I paid for all of it! No more just looking at these fine tools, time to practise!

I am "lucky"in that with the Farnborough Air Show having started, Westi,and only living just over a mile from the airport I get a free show of the planes going through their paces!

Now that is lucky Snooky! When the Bournemouth air show is on we sometimes get the planes coming over the house after their displays & can see the Red Arrows & some of the other planes that fly higher from the back room.

Wouldn't go into Bournemouth though as it is heaving, but there are some good offers for the day at some of the hotels on the front, with lunch & afternoon tea, sitting out on their patios right in the midst of the action, so maybe I'll spoil myself one day - if I book now should get a place by 2020!

Peter, Tuckton is so nice, love the little tea rooms on the river & the old ferry ride across to Christchurch. So much nicer walking down that side of the river as well, not a bad butchers there also!

If you're around on Sunday I'll be at Lottie. Roeshot Hill, just behind Sainsbury's & Garden Lands at Christchurch on the Lyndhurst Rd (A35). (next entrance after the Sainsbury's roundabout on the left, about 100 metres). About 10 mins from Tuckton! No 122/123 on the back row. Lottie shop open 10 - 12 & coffee hut also for a natter - or you could help me weed!

At West Palace Pa there is so much room - I can definitely swing the cat around in it & coincidentally our houses are built on the old runway from the war. Mind have to report cat not happy!

Hope you had a nice week in Tuckton & Christchurch, pretty spots close together & got that bit of culture, with quiet calm. (Obviously not including me)!

Blooming eck Westi, when i was down that way, you went in to hiding.....

Son and his fiance live and work in Bournemouth, which is why we were visiting, - me, wife & daughter.
Didn't cook a single meal during our four night visit!
The walk from Tuckton to Hengistbury Head, or vice versa, is recommended.

Thursday the girls went to Queens Hotel Spa, so son and I went round to Mudeford and nipped across on the ferry to Hengistbury Head to explore what we missed the previous day, had lunch at The Noisy Lobster on our return.

Couldnt agree with you more peter. Its an amazing walk... Cant wait till I can get there again to do it with my little girl. Not been that way since I took 3 months out to go hiking before uni

Dear O.H.! Now you would have been very welcome too! I believe there was a wee bit about naturalists horse trekking & Studland Bay on the agenda for your holidays & Elf & Safety first etc. Next time your looking for a holiday go a bit more south then the Purbecks, as pretty as they are! You've got my plot details now anyway.

Peter - Glad you mentioned the Noisy Lobster! My winter haunt - after a walk along the beach to Highcliffe & back we warm up there. Great when the waves are crashing over the top. In the summer we gravitate to the Haven on Mudeford Quay for whitebait & a pint on Saturday nights. (Although cosy inside in the winter too). I love chatting to the tourists visiting, sitting outside. Haven't been there this year yet thanks to the Gulf Stream!

YAY, Right, planning a trip down now Wish I could actually, moneys tight at the moment. When things are sorted I'm definaitally going to come for the noddy train again
