We have just got back from the plot I did not see anyone in the nude which is a good job looking at the state of most of us on there, the lady (for want of a better word) next to us has to take the biscuit she's well over weight tattoos in various places some I don't think one is supposed to see ,normally working in a flimsy tee shirt bearing most of her body and in the middle of winter as well with one bad attitude but her fellow is a great guy

All that was yesterday for us. The top of my head was sore under the shower this morning.

I thought you were going to be referring to this when I saw the title.

"Cast not a clout till May is out" still holds true with me.

25C here today and no rain in the offing.
Kit off or on, I did a dreadful thing today: I planted out the first dwarf beans and runner beans! They were just growing too big for the root trainers, so I planted the former under a cloche and surrounded the latter with double fleece, open at the top, all at home so it's easy to pop out and check on them. If/when it gets colder, I can always give them some more cover.
Lots of watering to do.

I had to do the same thing a couple of days ago. I worked on the basis that they are either going to survive or not; and they certainly wouldn't have been much good if they had stayed in the rootrainers for another couple of weeks. At least, if they succumb to a very cold snap there will be time to re-sow for a slightly later crop. When I sow or plant out too early (according to 'perceived wisdom'), I always try to convince myself that they grow that much hardier for having overcome non-ideal conditions.
