Does anyone know if you can get seeds sent from Australia? My friend who is sending me seeds is being obstructed by the post mistress who won't process the package. They are not loose, all packed in sealed envelopes from the seed company.

Even a point in the right direction to check would be helpful then she could print off the info & show the woman.

Cheers in advance - Westi!

I don't understand the post-mistresses attitude. If the seeds were being sent to Australia then there might be a problem but wouldn't be hers it would be down to their Customs services-and they are as paranoid as all get-out about foreign species entering the country.Every time I went there on the ships I, and the rest of the ships' company, were inspected for Anthrax and depending on which country the ship arrived from, the ship might need fumigating.
Your best bet,Westi, might be to give our Custom and Excise a call to find what the form is.

Well it would appear from South Australia seeds can be sent to any state in Aus (not high risk then), & seeds don't appear on either restricted or banned imports into the UK. Methinks we have a jobs worth.

Just to get the appropriate evidence I have e-mailed the seed company to clarify as it is Fothergills Aus, so I'm thinking they probably import / export to each other!
