Quince glut

I've a glut of quinces (pear-sized) if anyone in the Gatwick area wants some. The local pub has taken as many as they can handle (in exchange for a few pints of Surrey Hills best!) and another pub cook has done some quince jelly and given me 4 pots - lovely with cheese salad for lunch. :D

Ah, pity you're too far away. :( Haven,t had any quince products for years. Maybe you need to make contact with your local Womens Institute They might be able to make use of some of them!

Lucky you, I've not had any on mine for the last two years. The leaves have been badly affected with some kind of brown blotch and no fruit has set even though it had plenty of blossom. I'm going to give it a good feed and see what happens next year. It's usually a good cropper.

My quince tree developed a disease some years ago, so I pruned it back VERY heavily and then sprayed with Amiilotox. It took a couple of years to recover, but has fruited well ever since.
