The combined harvester is trundling up and down the field right by my washing line (!) and I was about 10 seconds too late....

What an incredible amount of dust and litter they chuck out. But, what an incredible machine it is, just think of the hours of back breaking work they save and how much more of a crop they can harvest. Wouldn't want to be in it without the high tech air conditioned cab though.

I wouldn't like to be a poor little harvest mouse in the face of that gigantic onslaught. At least when the men with sythes were at work they would have had a chance ton escape!

But yes, modern machinery is so labour and time saving. You only have to look around our homes at our washing machines, vacuum cleaners, food processors etc ....!

Came face to face with a combine harvester on the road the other night, so big it took its own lane plus half of the lane traffic in the opposite direction was trying to travel in. Traffic travelling in same direction as me had to pull off road (no footpath) tight up against hedgerow in order for it to get past.

HUGE is an understatement, have to admire skill of the driver.

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

At least travelling under the guise of the Pa Snip Enterprise gives me an excuse for appearing to be on another planet

Buzzards were having a field day (literally!) All the small mammals must have been diving out and the buzzards were diving down. Bit like seagulls following a plough.
