Disappearing seeds

I have carefully weeded, fertilized, watered and crumbled the soil into a fine tilth, then planted carrots and spring onions, and nothing's happened! I planted some others on a different part of my plot and there they are, fine as anything. Dunno what I did differently. Seems v. random.

Is anyone else finding germination v. slow? Is it the weather, d'ya think?

Hello mazmezroz, i planted some carrots end of march, it came really cold but they were up within three weeks, put some more in middle of april, and theres no sign of them yet.
I think it is just one of them things.
