Since it chucking it down with rain and feeling rather chilly with the strong wind, i thought it was time to announce Summer. :)

Summer ha ha, there's a laugh.

Gave plot a wide berth today after yesterdays efforts up there. Got a bit done but wind was cutting.

Today I've been catching up on planting stuff out in baskets and pots around the garden.

Ok so admittedly the chemo treatment may be a part cause of this but even with gloves on today my fingers are damn cold.

It's the wind that is so un-summerlike. From my desk here I can see the tall trees in front of us been battered by the strong NW wind.
Although it has been sunny almost all day here, I dare not plant out the runner beans and dwarf beans yet because of the cold nights (possible frost forecast for tonight!) and the wind.
Rainfall here, by the way, has been minimal this month, just a few dribs and drabs, certainly not enough to get to the roots of plants.

..and today I finally got round to packing away the greenhouse frost protection fan heaters...polished up and packed into their boxes.

Half inch of rain in a persistent spell this morning and a series of squally showers with a few hail stones for good measure.

Yes, I have noticed that recurring wind in the forecasts, Geoff. The odd thing is, though, that we have had very little rain, everything is quite dry. Our village nature reserve pond is very low for this time of the year.

I'm not sure what our resident Red Kite is doing, but it has been flying and hovering really low over our house today......a truly wonderful site.

Knowing that Red Kites go for carrion, makes me wonder: you haven't got a few skeletons in the cupboard, OH, have you?
