Last year I seem to recall a lady offering advice on carrot fly as used by her Grandfather. He sowed seed as normal, then with his size nine boots marched up and down the row compressing soil and seeds. At the time I thought this was crazy. But being a member of the, if you haven't tasted it, how can't you have an opinion brigade, I have just came back from the Lotty, having sown a carrot seed tape, and compressed same. Watch this space.
