I thank you all for your birthday wishes and have a terrible confession to make. I logged on earlier on this morning and was most surprised to find out that it was my birthday.
I had been having some treatment in hospital and I have been spending two or three nights in and two nights at home and keep repeating it and this has been going on for almost a month and I have got to a point where I don't know if I am on my arse or my elbow.
Having got quite a shock this morning I logged off and had a very good shot of the old amber liquor and a cup of tea. I went to clear my mail box and there were twenty cards and a notification from Ernie with twentyfive pounds in it. Hooray!
I has been a perfect English Spring day here and I have been sowing cabbage seeds, the second sowing and I have sown 432 in four varieties.
(I provide the surrounding district with their needs.)
I only grow 16 plants of each variety and sowing for myself.
Whilst I was away I find that the gales had stripped two of my tunnels.
They were last covered in 1994 so they have lasted at least twice, if not more, as they should have lasted. I shall not be replacing the covers again.
