This where my greenhouse should be emerging, I have two logs stores. One contains logs that need to sit for two years as they dry to be perfect, then they get moved to the secondary log store that contains useable logs.
If I manage to pile these store up to the roof, and I do. I get about 4 cubic metres of storage.
Even if I'm not up to cutting wood as my back and legs pack up working It's convenient to buy freshly felled logs during summer for a keener price. Most people don't have the storage.
The money I save at the moment by cutting my own or buying wet timber far outweighs then benefits of a greenhouse.
New log store progress.

How are you supposed to start and maintain a healthy lifestyle if it completely removes a wine lover’s reason to live?

Good to see some pictures Richard thanks
I won't show Mrs Snip cos I keep getting nagged about moving to somewhere we could have a log fire or burner as it is.
Showing her would just add more fuel to the fire

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.
At least travelling under the guise of the Pa Snip Enterprise gives me an excuse for appearing to be on another planet

Thank you.
It's very fashionable at the moment and those living in most suburban and even urban areas pay a premium price for the fashion and the fuel. The boys get their loin clothes on and the girls twitter.
It is lovely having a log fire, we also burn coal products but mostly in the shed or when it gets really cold. Coal products will stay in all night, in the morning you just riddle and more fuel on.
This is the first year I got through a winter without loosing electricity for days on end. It's then that you really benefit.
Right now at the back of the barn I have about five cubic of dried logs from last year and the year before, we'll still burn a cubic meter before summer arrives.

I've just cut down a couple of almond trees that where in our way then dragged them down the field where I will leave them for a couple of years to dry out before logging them up, I like our woodburner but they are messy ,ours has a small oven on top it's great for stews and roasts just the right size for the 2 of us, we had around 108 almonds when we bought this place we are down to about 90 at present most of them are dead or dying of old age we have got a couple of bushes that give us more nuts than the rest put together

Amazing, an almond tree in St Helens.
The will dry much more quickly if you cut it into logs then split the logs, even small logs need splitting and you need to get it off the ground.
I'm very sad that a greenhouse isn't going up in that spot, it's a very sunny spot and I could have source 240 volts through the wall. It is possible I could place a greenhouse in a number of spots though as I said before, unless I could afford the very best I would have to build it myself or it wouldn't survive.
The barns adjacent to our home (used to be a milking parlor) are slowly falling apart every windy day. Farmer still uses them but just store machinery and straw. Only eight years ago they used to keep bullocks in their though it was before I came here that they kept the milking herd in the barns. (I think they are called bullocks, it's boy cows that aren't sure if they are boys or girls. Very playfull and very dangerous because they are so inquisitive and playfull.
