today we have had a crowd of people down the allotment, we have been told that our part of town has been entered into the britain in bloom competition, I think its more to do with the regeneration of the part of our town that our allotments in than anything else as it has been run down with a bad reputation since noah was a lad, we had the higher ranks of our councils parks and gardens a few counselors, a couple of judges and a reporter with a few hangers on, the first plot they visited was ours, I over heard our chairman praising the work me and the wife have done in the 18 months we have had it we new our plot had been used as a rubbish dump for 14 years but did not know quite a few people had refused it prior to us getting it, I was then asked to give an account of the work we had undertaken to get it looking something like a growing area, I also used this time to give the judges a few courghettes each, they went the full length of the alottment viewing different plots when they came to our comuniall area with our new timber gazebo all decked out with tables with tableclothes on and wine and cakes , a few of them where suprised to say the least one of the party is the chairman of an allotment just up the road from ours he is always in the local paper with things about his allotment it has all ready been said he would win anything thats going as he is friendly with all the local councillors, his face was a picture , I dont know what awards are up for grabs but I think he relised he has a battle on his hands, I might sound like I am boasting but thats not my style but the look on this guys face made all the hard work worthwhile
