Anyone remember this character?

Looking in one of my bookcases for something else and I stumbled on this.
I'm not old enough to remember it but I do have a copy. Dundry Nurseries near here sell reproductions of it.

Vocals are by Betty Driver (known by millions today as Betty Williams in Coronation Street'), the recording was a great success and did a tremendous amount of good in getting the message across.
