Last year I picked the first two strawberries from the polytunnel on 3 June.
This year I picked the first box of strawberries on 19 May and am now picking half a kilo per day.

My Swift potatoes are earlier, and the gooseberries look as if they are going to come in a good couple of weeks early to.

I scoffed my first 2 outdoor strawberries on the weekend & got some lovely first earlies from grubbing around! Can't wait for this weekend!

I've just pulled my first baby carrots today and 3rd lot of beetroot. The carrots I've grown from seed tapes for the first time so I am watching these with interest So far they are looking very good.

Hi all,
Just had lunch consisting of the first of this years mackerel with new potatoes and baby carrots followed by my first strawberries. I'd forgotten how good freshly caught mackerel tastes.
Regards,
Gerry.

I think most of mine is late too, mainly due to having enormous difficulty getting things to germinate this year. I did manage to take a few strawbs, some lettuce and roses home yesterday. I've had to buy sweetcorn and sprout plants due to mice and snails respectively. next batch of lettuce seedlings are diminishing daily.
