Can anybody help please. I've bought an outdoor wall clock with temperature and what I assume to be Barometer readings. My problem is if the clock came with any explanatory notes I don't have them.
The dial face of the barometer insert is calibrated by % 0 to 100, what I'm struggling to do is equate it to something, what is the reading a percentage of?

yep that looks about right. I understand a barometer I may have to talk nicely
to the purse strings
As an aside when I was young I remember one on the wall at home, I believe it was quite old and was given to my parents as a wedding present. I was fascinated when my father used to tap the glass.
It must have been when I could read because I used to get a stool to stand on and move the needle to sunny.
I got caught and certain do's and don'ts were explained to me, so be aware that altering the needle does not alter the weather

I've got one of those taken from the family house. Currently reads 29.08 which I assume are inches of Mercury (not labelled) or on your scale between Rain and Change.
My weather station says 984.9 hpa.
Neither units being what I expect on a weather chart!
1" of Mercury = 33.86 millibars so old device says 984.6 millibars
Apparently 1 hpa (hectopascal) = 1 millibar so my old brass device hanging on the wall agrees with my modern weather station.
Humidity currently 81%.
My weather station says 984.9 hpa.
Neither units being what I expect on a weather chart!
