using Ladybirds in greenhouse

Greetings people
The past couple of years I have had problems with Aphids and Red Spider Mite in my greenhouse. I read an article a while back about a guy in America who releases Ladybirds in his greenhouse to control said pests. He had very mixed reviews but said it helped a great deal. Does anyone on here have any suggestions either to the good or bad on this subject?

Look forward to hearing back and will respond as soon as possible.

Many thanks in advance.

Phil

Can never be bad. If I find any while weeding in the Spring I usually put them in the greenhouse or the tunnel. Not sure what happens to them as I have never found any larvae who are the serious aphid crunchers.

I usually capture a few ladybirds to put in the greenhouse, but have you noticed that you see the ladybirds before the aphids have hatched out at the beginning of the growing season and then when there are lots of aphids you can't find any ladybirds?

Article in today's Mail - Sarah Raven is supplying them via her website!
£25.50 for 25 adults or 50 larvae for £19.95!

Fortune to be saved just relocating the ones in the garden methinks! :D
