Leaf mould

I have the chance of a large supply of leaf mould and in view of the winter rains having possibly leached out much the autumn compost nutrition I spread over my veg patch am wondering whether I should dig a supply of it into my bare patch before sowing. I know leaf mould can tend to be rather acidic and wonder if there are any vegs which would not thrive with this medium added. Also, would this encourage a major slug problem?
