Yet more rain here, Greater Anglua are "lifting restrictions" aka use offpeak tickets in rush hour and Police, Council, etc forecasting doom and gloom.

Mind you, it would help if various morons would NOT remove road closed signs and drive into floodwaters.
Also if Herts County Highways actually unblocked gullys when reported, rather than add them to a list for unspecified future action.

My parents were in that at Malham Tarn, tis cleaner than rain, until it melts.

Doesn't contain sewage either. :?

Son is at Royal Holloway University, had to drive him back last week after his car broke and runnymede pleasure ground by the RAF memorial is awash, including all the properties by the Thames, including a large hotel.

Yes, Thames Valley not a good place to be at the moment. Yet despite this my efficient automated computer diary is telling me that it's time to start sowing my leeks!
I am wondering how on earth the farmers and allotmenteers will be able to replace that valuable layer of top soil full of nutrients that has been washed away by the floods.

Everytime I see anything on the tv about the floods it really upsets me as we are so lucky and although it is very very wet here we are on hills and wont suffer with flooding. Those poor people are suffering so much.

Saying that our allotment is awash with water for the first time in 12 years I have bought wellies and do need them. We have curly kale, cavolo nero, broccoli, ruby chard left to pick on our plot. More rain tody and high winds. Hopefully it will settle down for the rest of the weekend and we can get some jobs done. Wednesday night the wind blew our empty coal bunker over and a bar off the pergola.

Another two fence panels ripped out in the night and smashed by the wind. This is starting to become an expensive habit. At least they can probably be used for firewood for a acquaintance of ours. They were quite elderly so I'm assuming any residual wood stain left on on them will now longer make the wood hazardous for burning indoors..
