Brilliant - Received my Lord Lamborne on Monday - well worth it. All planted up and now I just have to be patient.

How long do the instructions say before you can expect fruit? And do you have other tree pollinators nearby if required? I,m sure its first flowers will be awaited with interest.

I once read somewhere that if you plant walnut trees you are effectively planting for the next generation because they take so long to start bearing fruit. Don't know how true this is.

Good luck with your new tree, it's one I've not tried, but nice to get a bargain.

Regarding the walnut Primrose, mine produced 12 nuts in its fourth year, none last year, and I can see about 6 this year. So not overwhealmed :D They are still the best tasting walnuts I've ever had when dried for a couple of months - just ready for Christmas. Three each!

PP - don't fight over them ! I'm surprised you have the patience to leave them that long. I always love the milky texture before the nuts have dried but it's very rare that you can get them in that super fresh condition.

My little tree had 3 small apples on it this year - it's in a very large pot of J.I.no. 3. Looking healthy. I was going to plant it in a border - but have just lost 3 things (1 magnolia stellata, a climbing rose and a grape vine) due to honey fungus in that area. I think it's safer in its pot!
