LIFE IS TOO SHORT
Life is too short, so enjoy it.
Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be best to paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need.
Dust if you must, but there’s not much time with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish, and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world’s out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain, this day will not round again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old life will come and it’s not kind, and when you go, as you must, you yourself, will make more dust.
It’s not what you gather but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.
Life is too short, so enjoy it.
LOVE
I have seen a mother at a cot, so I know what love is.
I have looked into the eyes of a child, so I know what faith is.
I have seen a rainbow, so I know what beauty is.
I have seen the pounding of the seas, so I know what power is.
I have planted a tree, so I know what hope is.
I have heard a wild bird sing, so I know what freedom is.
I have lost a friend so I know what sorrow is.
I have seen a star-decked sky so I know what infinity is. I have seen and felt all these things so I know what life is.
LIFE
The life that I have is all that I have and the life that I have is yours.
The love that I have of the life that I have is yours and yours and yours.
A sleep I shall have, a rest I shall have, yet death will be but a pause.
For the peace of my years in the long green grass will be yours and yours and yours.
Life is too short, so enjoy it.
