Dh has just been to mole valley farmers.
We cannot find the right sized gate that we want for our garden/allotment.
He has now decided he's going to make 3 himself!!!
Now this in theory isn't a bad idea; in reality it's a nightmare as it will take him forever to make one nevermind 3!
He already has a task set by me for this weekend-to put fencing up to contain small, walking, climbing child, so that i can garden and she will be safe -this will take him days as it is!
So, anyone with gate know how any tips would be most welcome.
cheers! jo n lily
PS-I am not a slavedriver before you ask :P

Dear Jopsy, you won't believe it i burnt three really good gates this morning.
I make all my own gates using half lap joints for the frame, but it is very hard to try and describe how to do it. It would be a lot easier for you to buy them from a fencing company or a DIY store.
Sorry i can't be of more help.
I didn't really burn three gates.

Kind regards the gate making Old Herbaceous.

When i'm not fishing im mending my nets.

Pmsl-I was wondering why you had burnt 3 gates Herby!
I agree that buying ready made affairs would be easier-he thinks he'll be able to do it! There will be no stopping him until he's had a go!!
Ah well, we shall see!
Thanks anyway
jo
