Garden storm victims

Went out for a couple of hours yesterday and came back to find a large apple tree only a third of it's former self. Two large sections were down in the stream (it grows on the bank). 'Himself' had to venture down and pull them out to prevent them washing down and blocking the tunnel that goes under the road or the road floods!
Then we noticed that a large and stout rustic pergola had developed a 45 degree list to starboard. We were talking about removing it as we're sorting out that side of the garden so it's done the job for us... probably took offence!

Morning Motherwoman, we have been very lucky here, apart from a few small branches down, and water running down our lane, that is all the damage we have suffered.

Next doors ropey panel fence has suffered in every storm this autumn/winter and we've had to bodge it for her every time. Her family despite weekly extended visits and regulsr pop on visits have confined themselves to breaking down two shattered panels andstacking the bits.

Our large fast and adventurous hound has explored her garden and the next garden several times now. Asked after another panel went we were told "doing it all in the spring".

We have lost fence panelling too and think there may be more to come down so we also have a Yawning gap into next door's garden. But as it was ther darned ivy which has forced itsway through the fence panels and split them, all replacement will have to wait until better weather and some action on their part to do something about removing the ivy to avoid the same thing happening again..
