They have begun evacuating again down here around Christchurch! The folk in the mobile home park have been packed up again. They were last evacuated at 4am on Xmas morning so not much respite.

I know you can criticise them living there but it is their home & some have been there decades & they did have faith in the massive diversion work done along the river but Nature rules! If you saw how beautiful it is there when the river is calm it makes up for it!

Fortunately I am fairly well away from the rivers & marsh but my back garden does look like & is a bog at the moment! No thanks to the dogs & kitchen fitters mind!

Let's just hope it isn't as bad as they are predicting.

Most kitchen fitters install the cabinets in the house, Westi.

They're fitting them in the kennels because Westi is a top dog trainer, her dogs have been awarded 3 Michelin *.

It's worse than Xmas, as expected, with the tidal surge as well! Few good lightening strikes as well around the place - can't get out the end of our street as police have diverted traffic up there as the BP garage on the main road got hit & building is deemed as unsafe. It's a M & S one as well & was planning a visit there later for a microwave meal! Mind was lucky I didn't finish work any earlier - but then the meal would be already heated!

Poor you, Westi. I hope the wind and weather improves soon. It must be horrible to be so helpless against the elements when they decide to attack. And I hope you get your microwave meal!
