I've just finished giving the pond at the holiday cottage a really good sort out. I hadn't realised how grown in from the sides it had got and the water lillies were taking up too much room. So it was splodging around on the marginal shelf hauling out loads of silt encrusted pond weeds, cutting the lillies to a more reasonable size and then trying to actually get the cut stuff out of the pond. I was pleased to finish.

I left the heaps on the side for a hour or so for anything to crawl out and then dragged it all away, it was so heavy... and smelly. My jeans have changed colour, I think I'll change them.

Anybody else been a mucky puppy this week?
